Progression vs. Being Tested

“Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.” ~ Winston Churchill  Recently, my dear friend Stephanie Mazzella and I decided to start a mini-book club with just the two of us and our book choice is Working With The Law by Raymond Holliwell.  I am loving this book because he takes each natural law of the universe and discusses it at length with an ease and simplicity that makes it all too impossible not to get it. During the chapter “Law of Supply” we went of on a tangent about the progression of man.  Stephanie asked me if anywhere in our church’s doctrine are we actually told we’re placed here to be tested and I can honestly say, that no, that’s not what we were taught.  We’ve been taught that we are …

Saving Time & Money Is Key

“My favorite things in life don’t cost any money.  It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.”  ~ Steve Jobs [Day 20] of The 30 Day Blog Challenge is all about finding the key resources that will both save you time and money in your online business.   One of the first important factors, as stated by Natalie Sisson of The Suitcase Entrepreneur is to register your domain and create  your website.  Your website is your online fingerprint.  It’s your unique presence on the web.  Creating your website shouldn’t be complicated with all the great resources available to you now.  Natalie suggested Hostgator which has several hosting options based on your business’s size and needs.  I took her advise and opened an account with them.  I’m currently working on my site and hope to have it up and running soon! I’m still in the beginning steps of my business, so picking and choosing which resources to use to save me time and money is a bit over my head for now.  …

Keys To Success

[DAY 10] of The 30 Day Blog Challenge is picking up the pace a bit.  At least for me any way.   I’m to answer the question “What are the key ways in which you want to make money in your  chosen business?”  HUH??!!! BLANK SLATE Right now, my chosen online business is a blank slate.  Mainly because i haven’t chosen an online business yet.  Granted, I know what is important to me, I know what my talents & skills are, I just haven’t figured out what the convergence is. VISIONS OF GRANDEUR If and when I figure out where my “chosen business” is headed, I do know that I want it to give me the “location independence” Natalie Sisson talks about on Suitecase Entrepreneur.  I want to replace my current monthly income so that I can concentrate on serving the world with the talents I was divinely given. KEYS, KEYS….WHERE THE HECK ARE MY KEYS!!! Once i DO figure things out, I do know that I definitely want to offer a product and program that …

I Want To Grow Up To Be Just Like…..

Well, maybe not me, but my blog.  In today’s 30 Day Challenge we are asked to write about which online business or company brand we most admire and why.  Well, to be honest, there isn’t just one for me. I’m fairly new to the online business world, so it’s not like I’ve been following certain online businesses for years.  However, in the short time that I have been in this community, there are a few businesses that I gravitate towards. The first is Layout A Day by Lain Ehmann.  This particular online business speaks to my creative side first and foremost, but that’s not all.  I love how she has taken her passion for scrapbooking & cardmaking and has established an online presence dedicated to that love and the sharing and teaching of it. Lain does this by daily challenges to help bring out the creative genius of her students & visitors.  By also having classes you sign up for and podcasts you can listen to as well as more indepth programs.  There is a …

Kickoff To A 30-Day Challenge

I actually came rather late to the party.  I joined The 30 Day Challenge on Day 6, so in this blog post i will be “chunking” together the first 7 days worth of challenges.  Go me!  Each day we’re asked questions that really make dig deep and think and then we are challenged to write a blog post based on answering the question of the day.  I’m excited – hope you are too! DAY 1 – WHY DID YOU START YOUR BLOG?  WHY DID YOU JOIN THIS CHALLENGE? I started this blog mainly because i wanted to share my deep rooted belief that we all have an inner power to create a better life for ourselves if we just become consciously aware of ourselves and our actions, which is why I named it “Start Living Consciously”. I want to reach out to those who feel as though they have no control and show them that in reality they truly do.  For me, it’s all about service to others and making some impact in changing the …

Limitless

“dwell in possibility…” – Emily Dickenson Just finished watching this movie called “Limitless” starring Bradley Cooper (yeah, I know, right!).  The premise was basically a writer with writer’s block and whose live was pretty much in the toilet, takes this drug which sparks the neurons in the brain to work at full speed.  Meaning, instead of just accessing 5% of the brain like most human beings do, the brain is at 100% full potential.  Well, Bradley Cooper’s character finished his book in 4 days after having writer’s block for months because he all of a sudden saw things clearing and completely.  Everything was at his brain’s disposal.  Now, I am in NO way condoning drug use.  This post isn’t about that – it is about the idea of how amazing our minds can be if we let them. This made me think of exactly how living with clarity & awareness works.  When we become aware of how our mind works and the power behind it, there is nothing we can’t accomplish, achieve or become.  All …

Prisonbreak!

Breaking Out Of Prison!  Who’s With Me? For about 20+ years, I have been in “Corporate Prison” and I am breaking out.  The pivotal moment came recently when I realized that the company I work for really doesn’t care about its employees despite their testament that they do.  Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t been in a bubble all these years thinking Corporate America was ethical, it is just that sometimes you forget when you’re busy in the day to day routine of showing up and clocking in. Currently I’m a “full-timer”, but there are other employees that are part-time.  Their hours were being cut back due to “not enough hours in the budget”, however, management was holding group interviews & orientations for new employees.  Doesn’t make sense does it?  Well, it didn’t to me either, until further investigation.  Apparently, it costs less money to give new employees hours at a “lesser rate” than it does to give more hours to already established employees who have a higher hourly rate.  Are you kidding me right …

Like Attracts Likes, So Take Control of the Flow

“There is a current that runs through everything. It exists throughout the universe. It is the basis of the universe and the physical world.”  -Esther Hicks, Ask And It Is Given I know many of you have heard the phrase “like attracts likes”, but do you really understand what that means? Well, it’s basic physics. At the basis of all things in this universe, there is energy. Within molecules, there are atoms and at the center of an atom there is energy. Pure, unadulterated energy. And all energy emits a vibration and each vibration attracts a like vibration. Many call this vibration a “frequency”. When you set a certain frequency, it’ll tune into a like or “matching” frequency. Think of a radio for example. Would you tune your radio to a classic rock station and expect to hear country music? No, of course not. Because radio frequencies are setup to match the corresponding frequency of the broadcasting tower. Same process applies the vibrational frequency everything on this planet emits. Here’s another example. Have you ever …

Stop, Drop & Roll

Many times we are faced with moments in which are knee jerk reaction is to respond in a particular way.  What if we could take back control of our reactions and choose the way we respond?  What if there were a way to ensure this behavior?  What if I told you, YES…..there IS a way? Let’s call this process STOP, DROP & ROLL.  Yes, I am sure you’ll equate this putting out a fire, but think for a moment?  Metaphorically, isn’t that what you’ll be doing?  Putting out the fire of that knee jerk reaction?   Let’s explore this process further.  STOP and become aware of the moment.  It may be a moment where a co-worker upsets you, or a situation at work is frustrating (I speak from personal experience), or perhaps your children or spouse push your buttons.  Or it an even be a stranger on a street, train or on line in front of you.  Whatever the circumstance, take a quick moment to STOP and become aware of the moment.  Are you feeling angry?  …

Open To Possibilities

Today I had a great experience. I was at my part-time job and I saw a lady who I’ve seen before working with one of her clients. She actually works with mentally disabled adults who are being trained in work situations. I have seen her on different occasions but never really had a reason to strike up a conversation. Until today. A shout out to Sharita!! I was working in my department and there I saw Sharita with one of her clients. I was inspired at that moment to mention to her that my sister-in-law (well, ex sister-in-law to be accurate) had worked in that same field years ago while she lived here in NY. I mentioned that she now works in adult protective services in Virginia. She asked me what exactly did that entail. I went on to explain how my sister-in-law is an advocate for the elderly, assessing their need for assistance, placement, etc. Apparently something I said resonated with her because she got goose bumps at the explanation. She told me that …
